Why one care group switched policy systems after five years
Their old system worked fine. That was the problem.
Nothing was broken. Policies were online, signatures were collected and reports were available. But managers still spent hours chasing acknowledgements, and staff still rang the office with the same questions.
What changed
The group moved to policies written for each role, with understanding checks in place of signatures, and gave staff a way to ask questions on shift. Their own policies came across too, so everything sat in one list.
Switching took planning, but the difference was clear: fewer calls to the office, and managers who could see who had understood what.
