We don’t like the way policies usually work in care homes. You know the ones. Long documents, written in legal language, printed out and put in a folder that nobody opens until an inspector is on the way. Policies matter. They protect residents, support staff and keep services safe. But a policy only works if people read it, understand it and use it. Too often, that just doesn’t happen.
